Personal Goals in Triathlon - Training hard and smart enough in order to continually improve, which manifests itself not only in race results (and in beating my training buddies) but in life,

good health.

Steve LockeSteve Locke

Years of Triathlon Experience - I started competing in triathlon in 1987 however, was forced to
quit in 1992 because of family and job commitments. Having never forgotten my triathlon goals,
I started again in 2004.  Factoring in the twelve year break, this will be my 13th year of triathlon.

Biggest Accomplishment in Triathlon - Current streak of 11 triathlons in which I have placed in
masters or age group categories. This includes three masters wins and four top-10 overall finishes.

Personal Goals in Triathlon - To finish top 3 in several races before truly accepting his "Grandpa"

Years of Triathlon Experience - 4 years

Biggest Triathlon Accomplishments -
Several Top 3 finishes in the Clydesdale category.  Completing two 70.3 events.  Obtaining my USA Triathlon Race Director Certification in 2009.

Personal Goals in Triathlon -
As a former college football player, I have a tendency to "embrace my girth".  This offseason, I lost 30lbs.  I want to continue using swimming, biking, and running as a way to lean out while getting faster in each discipline.  I may even decide to lose a couple more pounds, break the 200lb barrier, and race in my age group.  If I can maintain a family first lifestyle and stay healthy, I'd like to compete and complete a full Ironman.

Current Employment -
General Manager at Maritz, Inc.

Laurie Kimbell
Years of Triathlon Experience -
4 years

Biggest Triathlon Accomplisment - Upon completing her fourth Lanier Sprint Triathlon in 2009, Laurie shaved more than 20:00 off her finish time since first competing in the race in 2006.  She also completed her first Olympic distance triathlon in 2009.

Personal Goals in Triathlon - Laurie is working hard to make it possible to PR in all her races this season.  In addition, she wants to average a sub 8-minute pace in her 5K leg of the sprint distance races this season.  Another goal of hers is to convert her friends into triathlon enthusiasts so they will stop making fun of her when she mentions things like "race pace", "kick sets" and "power bursts" in a sentence.

Current Employment - Laurie is an ACSM Certified Personal Trainer and also works part time for North Point Community Church.  She lives in Johns Creek with her Clydesdale husband, Kevin, and their two daughters, Conoly and Katie.
